Arraiolos
Arraiolos – Description / text
Arraiolos’s Council promoted a competition for building a museum in the village’s castle.
The brief seemed questionable: a self-sufficient set of functions in an isolated precinct would work like a shopping centre, which benefits from urban infrastructure but does not return social and economical benefits to the community.
Our solution seeks, with the same means, to create a network connecting several notable points from the castle to São Pedro’s hill through the village. By doing this we maximize the economical and social revenue not only for the museum but for all existing cultural and commercial activities.
